One Environment Blog blends stories of my encounters with environmental issues and ways that you can become involved in some of these issues. It brings you important information about how to be green in your personal and professional life and reviews of green products to make your life and the planet better.
I welcome new authors with relevant articles on issues of energy, food, and green living. One Environment Blog is based in Santa Rosa, California. I work to educate elementary students on environmental and food issues in Sonoma County. I try to tell stories with my posts because so many of the world’s cultures value storytelling. And after all, it is more fun to hear a story than dry scientific information.
In a consumer culture with rapidly depleting resources and space, our ability to efficiently and responsibly interact with the world around us is important both for our well-being and our survival. Being green is not just a fad anymore and, frankly, it never was. Every person that enjoys clean water, clean air and the raw beauty of nature, is green at heart even if they do not know it or want to admit it.
I grew up in a place that did not necessarily have a lot of environmental consciousness, but people had strong connections to nature through camping, hunting, hiking and mountain biking. One of my life’s goals has been to make the logical connection between enjoying nature and preserving it. I find in my work with youngsters that as soon as people can smell, touch, see, hear and taste nature they immediately develop an appreciation for it and want to conserve it.
There are so many little things we can do to make our lives greener and enjoy them at the same time. Being green is about expanding…expanding your adventures and expanding our awareness of how interconnected we really are to everything on this planet. This is what Onenvironment Blog is all about. So join me in providing the information to the masses that will help create a more sustainable and enjoyable world!
It is an issue I must do more research into, many thanks for the posting.
